Crews were dispatched to a vehicle verses tree with 2 possible entrapments on Hwy 101 south Tuesday evening. Once units arrived, entrapments were confirmed and Chief Roper set up command and began scene size up. 1824 arrived and crew began extrication of patients and setting up a landing zone for Meds Trans. Extrication crews were faced with many obstacles with the passenger being pinned so 1851 called for mutual assistance from Greenpond and Western Laurens FD to help. Crews set up ropes for a low angle rescue so once the passenger was extricated, he could be placed in stokes basket and sent up the hill to EMS for transport. Extrication of the passenger was just over an hour and Police officials state that the cause of the accident was due to an argument the passenger and driver were having and the passenger reached and grabbed the steering wheel which sent the vehicle off the road and into a tree.
